Pristine Ketoconazole 2% Anti-Dandruff Shampoo 120ml

Pristine Shampoo contains ketoconazole 2%, an anti-fungal medicine. It treats and helps prevent skin conditions caused by yeast:

• Dandruff (pityriasis capitis)
• Seborrhoeic dermatitis of the scalp
• Pityriasis versicolor (pale or white patches on the skin)

120 ml bottle.

• Wet your hair or skin, apply enough shampoo to lather and massage it in. Leave it on for 3 to 5 minutes, then rinse well.
• Dandruff and seborrhoeic dermatitis: twice a week for 2 to 4 weeks. To stop it coming back, use it once every 1 to 2 weeks.
• Pityriasis versicolor: once a day for up to 5 days, on the affected skin.
• See a doctor if it has not improved after 4 weeks.

Good to know: avoid the eyes. If it gets in, rinse well with water.

Side effects are uncommon. Possible ones include:

• Itching, burning or irritation of the scalp or skin
• Dry or oily hair or scalp
• Changes in hair texture, and rarely discolouration of grey, permed or coloured hair
• Eye irritation if it gets in the eyes

Stop and see a doctor if you get a rash, blistering or swelling.

• Do not use if you are allergic to ketoconazole or any of the ingredients.
• For use on the scalp and skin only.
• Pregnancy and breastfeeding: very little ketoconazole is absorbed through the skin from the shampoo, so it can usually be used, but check with our doctor first.
• If you have been using a steroid cream or lotion on the same area, ask our doctor before stopping it.
