CarePlus Heart & Cholesterol Support, 30 Capsules

A once-daily capsule that brings together four ingredients commonly used for heart and circulation support:

• Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) 100 mg: helps the cells, including heart muscle, make energy, and acts as an antioxidant. Levels fall with age, and some people taking statins choose to add it.
• Beta-glucan 200 mg: a soluble fibre.
• Green tea extract 50 mg: antioxidant catechins.
• Garlic extract 50 mg: traditionally used to support healthy circulation.

It works best alongside a healthy diet, regular exercise and any medicine your doctor has prescribed for cholesterol or blood pressure.

1 capsule once a day with a meal, or as directed by our doctor. Swallow with water. CoQ10 is absorbed better with food that contains some fat.

Usually well tolerated. Possible side effects: mild stomach upset, nausea, heartburn or a garlic aftertaste. Stop and seek help if you have signs of an allergic reaction.

• Blood thinners: tell our doctor if you take warfarin, aspirin, clopidogrel or similar. Garlic may increase bleeding risk and CoQ10 can affect warfarin.
• Stop 1 to 2 weeks before planned surgery.
• Ask our doctor first if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or take blood pressure or diabetes medicines.
• Keep taking your prescribed cholesterol and blood pressure medicines. This capsule does not replace them.
• Store below 25°C in a dry place, with the lid tightly closed. Keep out of reach of children.
